Lithuanian, American, English, Australian, Mexican ・・・・・these are just some of the nationalities which have used the Medix English speaking guide service recently. Mr. Matsuyama said “This increase in business is an effect of Expo’ 2005”.
The Medix English guide service began 5 years ago. Mrs. Matsuyama accompanies customers on request. Previously, requests were rare but this year demand has increased. As well as Takayama, they have taken groups to Shirakawa village, Shin-hodaka, and Matsumoto.
This is an extra service to customers and is free of charge・・・customers pay only the taxi fare.
“Perhaps we will have a Chinese-speaking guide next!!” said Mr. Matsuyama.
